What is Coaching?
Just like with sports, if you want to improve quickly, you get a good coach. As an intimacy coach, I guide people in finding their true selves and teach them new skills and perspectives to deepen their relationships with themselves and others. We often have difficulty understanding or even observing our own behavior. I can show you the behaviors that are holding you back and help you work past them. In the realm of sex and relationship coaching, this usually means guiding you to the parts of your psyche that are interfering with your progress and then working to heal them. Having connected with your true self again, I can then help you to explore new ways of looking at your relationships and what you truly desire from them. Once you understand this, I’ll teach you the skills needed to create the life and relationships you want.
What Are Sessions Like?
Sessions are 60 minutes long and are usually conducted over Zoom (in-person sessions are possible). I use a combination of talk-based coaching and somatic exercises. Together, we will create a safe space where you can explore - both through talk and experiential learning - the tools of intimacy and connection. In session, we will always discuss any exercises beforehand and make sure that you feel safe, comfortable and ready for those experiences and that all boundaries are respected. We may practice with sharing boundaries, role-playing conversations to improve communication, exploring fantasies to discover core desires and so much more.
Individual Coaching
No partner is necessary for this work. Individual coaching is where most of the work is done. Many of the conflicts we have with our partners is an effect of the issues we each carry with us. We first need to look inward and understand ourselves before we can connect with another. Whether you’re in a relationship or not, individual coaching will help.
Couples Coaching
If you have a partner and want to work on issues together, bring them. Some issues are resolved quicker when both partners can learn together. Many times, this is done by coaching individually and then bringing you back together when you’re ready.
